As electric vehicles (EV) are garnering strong interests to create sustainable road transportation and mitigate greenhouse gases emissions, lithium-ion batteries (LiB) are attracting attention as a promising energy storage solution to power the vehicles. In fact, it is projected that the LiB market may exceed $94 billion by 2025. With growing demand for in-depth analysis and characterization of LiB, analytical techniques have become dominant to evaluate LiB battery performance and accelerate EV growth in the market.

In this webinar, you will learn Shimadzu’s role in helping customers to attain breakthroughs in the EV field. After graduating from the National University of Singapore, Jackie has garnered over 6 years of research, training and facilitation experience. Jackie meets scientists from various industries to share technical knowledge and collect feedback, understanding their problems and helping them find well-suited solutions in GC-related analyses.

Presenter:Venjamin Chan (Senior Manager (Analytical & Measuring Instruments Division), Shimadzu Asia Pacific)

Venjamin Chan, who has more than 10 years in Industrial X-ray Inspection experience, joined Shimadzu Asia Pacific in 2016. He is currently the head of Non Destructive Inspection Department; responsible for managing the sales, service and applications in Asean and India. He has hands-on experience for electrical-electronics, semiconductors, aerospace, automotive, castings and additive manufacturing fields. His passion in NDI enhances his desire to pursue excellence.

Presenter: Tan Teck Beng (Senior Product Specialist (Analytical & Measuring Instruments Division), Shimadzu Asia Pacific)

Tan Teck Beng is the Senior Product Specialist for Scientific Instrument in Shimadzu Asia Pacific. He has been providing application support for OES, XRF, XRD, EPMA, SPM and ESCA for the past 19 years. He has conducted numerous Application Seminars and Workshops on Materials Characterization/Failure Analysis/Restriction of Hazardous Substances in countries supported by Shimadzu Asia Pacific. The countries where he has conducted include Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, India, Philippines, Myanmar, Vietnam and Singapore. He is currently providing Application and Technical Support for Shimadzu Scientific Instruments for more than 200 companies in Asia Pacific Region utilizing shimadzu scientific instruments. He has an MSc degree in Materials Science from the National University of Singapore.
