In a bid to ensure to safety and quality before consumption, edible oil testing is seeing a definitive demand in the market. Manufacturers in conjunction with regulators are finding ways to bridge and improve the gaps in the current testing environment.
Agilent is collaborating with FSSAI, the premier statutory body for food safety and quality in India, to address the nuances of edible oil testing from the analytical point-of-view.
In this program, experts will broadly talk about edible oil analysis related to its fortification, adulteration, composition and additives.
AGENDA Day 2: 8th March
Session 1: Reliable determination of residual Hexane in oils and fats & Comprehensive analysis of fatty acid composition in oils and fats
Presenter: Soma Dasgupta, Ph.D. (Application Engineer (GC/MS), Agilent Technologies)
She brings over 15 years of research experience with gas chromatography allowing her to explore many aspects of this analytical technique to solve questions across different sectors ranging from food safety to pharmaceuticals. Prior to joining Agilent Technologies, she performed her doctorate research at the University of Pune where she concentrated on developing comprehensive methods for analysis of agro-chemicals in fruits and vegetables. She has worked with Thermo Fisher Scientific for 3 yrs as Application specialist. On joining Agilent, she became part of a team responsible for developing solutions to meet customers' analytical needs. She specialize in multi-residue method development; pesticides and environmental applications and genotoxic impurities in pharmaceuticals. She has more than 25 publications and application notes to her credit and a book chapter.

Presenter: Rajni Mujoo, Ph.D. (Technical Support Specialist, Agilent Technologies)
Dr. Rajni is working with us as Technical Support Specialist in Chemistries and Supplies Division at Agilent Technologies since 2011. She has a Ph.D degree in Food Science from CFTRI, Mysore and Post Doctorate from Department Of Food Science, Michigan State University. She also has four International Presentations & 13 publications in reputed National & International journals to her credit. Rajni has a total work experience of 16 yrs spread across research and Sales building expertise in different Instrument techniques.
