Unique GC column selectivities for optimal separation of PAH compounds in food and environmental matrices
SelectScience: Unique GC column selectivities for optimal separation of PAH compounds in food and environmental matrices
Modern food safety regulations put emphasis on analytical methods that can separate critical analyte pairs for identification and quantitation. To meet experimental separation goals and exceed food safety regulatory requirements, new gas chromatography (GC) column selectivities are now essential.
In this webinar, Dr. Ramkumar Dhandapani, Global Product Manager at Phenomenex, will explore advances in GC column selectivity and provide method development tips to help solve challenging chromatographic problems related to polyaromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) analysis, including:
- Fast analysis of PAH using unique GC column selectivity
- Fast, single-column separation of PAH and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs)
- Expediting PAH analysis by up to 70%
- Lifetime evaluation with challenging matrix extending column lifetime
Key learning objectives
- Learn about new GC solutions for food and environmental testing of PAH
- Evaluate new GC column selectivities for PAHs and PCB analysis by GC-MS
- Learn how to utilize novel GC column selectivities for method development of challenging separations
Who should attend?
- GC and GC-MS method development scientists that are interested in optimizing PAH methods
- Scientists in environmental and food testing labs that are looking to increase the performance and productivity of their GC analytical methods
- Chromatographers who are looking to improve their current PAH, PCB, GC methods with an alternative column or technique for faster and more effective separations
Presenter: Dr. Ramkumar Dhandapani (Global Product Manager - Gas Chromatography, Phenomenex)
Dr. Ramkumar Dhandapani has been in the chromatography industry for over 18 years with hands - on and troubleshooting experience. He has earnt a master’s and Ph.D. degree in analytical chemistry from Seton Hall University, with specializations in microextractions, multidimentional gas chromatography, and tandem mass spectroscopy techniques. He has developed and validated several regulatory compliant methods in the pharmaceutical, food, fuels and environmental industries as well as incorporated method improvement and troubleshooting across a range of separation techniques. Dr. Dhandapani joined Phenomenex in August of 2014 and he serves as the global product manager of gas chromatography. In addition to managing the GC product line, Dr. Dhandapani presents on innovations in GC at various chromatography conferences.
