ASMS 2020: A new approach to Breath Biopsy using TD-GC-Orbitrap Mass Spectrometry
Thermo Fisher Scientific ASMS 2020 Reboot: A new approach to Breath Biopsy using TD-GC-Orbitrap Mass Spectrometry
This presentation will describe how integrating GC Orbitrap™ into the Breath Biopsy® platform is helping to advance breath analysis as a tool for early disease detection and precision medicine.
Orbitrap allows simultaneous analysis of both high-abundance volatile organic compounds and trace-level analytes within breath samples.
Using the software package Compound Discoverer, customized feature extraction, and data processing methodologies have been developed, streamlining the identification of unknowns for discovery metabolomics. We will discuss how the implementation of Chromeleon Chromatography Data System (CDS) has enhanced data acquisition, management and processing, enabling the end-to-end solution required to manage the logistics of ever-increasing demand on our high-throughput Breath Biopsy® Laboratory.
We then illustrate the application of these approaches by presenting results from a study examining the application of breath analysis to liver diseases.
Who should attend
- Those interested in metabolomics analysis using GC/MS, and those working on clinical research applications on breath analysis
