A Total Workflow for Multi-Class, Multi-Residue Analysis of Pesticides in Fatty Food Matrices
Pixabay/Shutterbug75: A Total Workflow for Multi-Class, Multi-Residue Analysis of Pesticides in Fatty Food Matrices
In this webinar, Limian Zhao and Dr. Xia Yang from Agilent Technologies will present a complete workflow for the analysis of multi-class, multi-residue pesticides in fatty food matrices including milk, salmon and vegetable oils. From sample preparation through to analysis using either GC-MS/MS, LC-MS/MS or both, the entire workflow is designed to provide a simple and efficient sample extraction and fatty food matrix cleanup with accurate and precise analysis for both LC and GC amenable pesticides.
This workflow has been demonstrated to provide acceptable recoveries within 70 to 120% for >95% of pesticides, excellent reproducibility of =10% RSD for 95% of pesticides and a broad dynamic calibration range with a 1 ng/mL limit of quantitation in sample matrix for the majority of pesticides. The workflow promises to be an effective solution for pesticides quantitative analysis in complex fatty food matrices.
By attending the webinar, attendees will learn strategies for sample preparation, instrument method development and optimization, plus workflow applicability to their practical applications.

- A total workflow for analysis of pesticides in fatty food matrices that can be used directly for practical applications
Presenter: Limian Zhao (Application Scientist, Agilent Technologies)
Limian Zhao started her career in the environmental testing and clinic/pharmaceutical testing CRO labs for about five years. She joined Agilent in 2008 as an application chemist, and then as an R&D scientist involved in many new product research and development projects, including LC, GC and sample preparation consumable products. She has over 15 years’ practical experiences in food, clinical and environmental testing industries, especially with knowledge and hands-on experience in many sample preparation techniques as well as analytical instrumentations. She understands the challenges that customers face with sample preparation issues across many markets and application areas. Limian hold her M.S. in Analytical Chemistry and Food Chemistry.
Presenter: Dr. Xia Yang (Senior Application Scientist, Agilent Technologies)
With a PhD in analytical chemistry from Peking University and six-year postdoc research in medical science and proteomics with LC/MS, Dr. Xia Yang joined Agilent in 2014 focusing on application development and technique supports. She has worked on multiple applications of food analysis related to veterinary drugs and pesticides in a variety of food matrices. She has also collaborated with government labs on drafting the regulation methods of pesticides in animal-source food.
