VUV Analytics: A Sharing on Gas Chromatography - Vacuum Ultraviolet Technology
The VUV detector is a revolutionary detector which utilizes molecular absorption down to 120nm, once upon a time thought to be impossible for a benchtop system. Because almost all molecules absorb very strongly at this wavelength based on their electron configuration, it gives a unique finger print, such that even isomers can be differentiated. With the simplicity of Beer-Lambert’s Law together with the VUV deconvolution software, one can identify and quantify gas phase molecules easily even though they may co-elute.
