Which system do I need for dioxin analysis: GC magnetic Sector, GC-MS/MS or GC Orbitrap MS?
For Dioxins and POPs analysis, magnetic sector GC-HRMS has long been recognized as the instrumentation for meeting worldwide regulations and compliance. However, techniques such as GC-MS/MS or GC Orbitrap MS provide an alternative instrumental approach to this challenging application. As laboratories strive for high throughput, increasing scope of analysis and reduced cost of ownership, it is important to consider the merits and limitations of all three approaches for various sample types and performance criteria.
Join us (virtually) for an insightful webinar in which our applications specialists will discuss the theory with real world data examples will be given to highlight the advantages of each technique in meeting regulatory criteria.
What you will learn:
Introduction of the Thermo Scientific technology and analytic solutions for regulatory dioxins analysis
Regulations and challenges of dioxins analysis
Comparison of performance and benefits of each approach
Who should attend:
Analytical chemists focussed on food and contaminants analysis including dioxins/POPs
Laboratory managers and supervisors
Research chemists
Presenter: Nicholas Warner (Product Applications Specialist GC-MS, Thermo Fisher Scientific)
Nicholas is a product specialist with a strong scientific background in GC and GC-MS applications. Originally from Canada, he has worked as an environmental researcher for 14 years within Norway before moving to join the Thermo Fisher Scientific team in Bremen, Germany in 2021. With a background in Environmental/Analytical chemistry, he is a specialist in the analysis of emerging harmful substances in the environment using gas chromatography mass spectrometry and high-resolution mass spectrometry.
Presenter: Dominic Roberts (Product marketing manager GC-MS, Thermo Fisher Scientific)
Dominic Roberts has been closely involved with the Thermo Scientific GC Orbitrap MS since its launch in 2015. He started at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Senior Applications Specialist for the product and is currently the GC Orbitrap MS Marketing Manager. Dominic is an experienced analytical chemist and mass spectrometrist with more than 20 years of experience using state-of-the-art analytical systems. He has worked in both a regulatory and industrial environment with GC–MS and LC–MS systems to investigate a variety of chemicals in food, biological, and environmental samples.
Presenter: Dr. Heinz Mehlmann (Application Manager DFS Magnetic Sector GC-HRMS)
