Agilent Technologies: Multi-Residue Pesticide Analysis in Food: Regulations and Analytical Approaches
Agilent Technologies: Multi-Residue Pesticide Analysis in Food: Regulations and Analytical Approaches

Pesticide residue monitoring in food is critical due to increasing regulatory complexity across the Asia-Pacific region. This webinar, scheduled for May 7th, will cover current regulatory frameworks and analytical methodologies essential for pesticide residue testing across diverse food matrices.

In this webinar, we will discuss recent regulatory developments for pesticide residue analysis relevant to India and the South Asia-Pacific region. The discussion includes global regulatory considerations, methods standardization across various food matrices, and key elements of India's National Residue Monitoring Program. The necessary criteria for method validation and laboratory best practices, aligned specifically with SANTE guidelines, will be outlined.

The webinar will also cover laboratory-focused methods covering Agilent’s end-to-end analytical solutions. This includes detailed workflows using GC/MS/MS, particularly using hydrogen as a carrier gas using HydroInert ion source, and LC/MS/MS for effective detection of polar and non-polar pesticide residues. Additionally, we will explain the high-resolution GC/Q-TOF approach for comprehensive contaminant screening. The session will also address sample preparation challenges by demonstrating QuEChERS, Enhanced Matrix Removal (EMR), etc., methodologies suitable for complex food samples. Register today.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Updates on pesticide residue regulations specific to India and the South Asia-Pacific region
  • Understanding India's National Residue Monitoring Program for pesticides
  • Analytical approaches aligned with SANTE validation requirements
  • Application of GC/MS/MS, LC/MS/MS, and GC/Q-TOF technologies for pesticide analysis
  • Sample preparation methods, including QuEChERS and Enhanced Matrix Removal (EMR) techniques for complex foods.

Who Should Attend:

  • Food safety labs, food scientists and analysts, quality teams, regulatory specialists, researchers in academia and government organizations involved in pesticide analysis and food safety, and anyone working in food testing across South Asia-Pacific region

Presenter: Dr. Kaushik Banerjee (Director, ICAR-National Research Centre for Grapes, Pune)

Dr. Kaushik Banerjee is the Director of ICAR-National Research Centre for Grapes, Pune. His area of research focuses on the development of efficient analytical methods for the sensitive and confirmatory estimation of pesticide residues and mycotoxins in agricultural and food matrices, and risk assessment studies for fixation of crop-specific MRLs. Being a member of the Scientific Panels of FSSAI, he regularly contributes to the development and implementation of the food safety standards in India. Dr. Banerjee’s extensive contributions to science and community have earned him numerous national and international laurels, and fellowships of Royal Society of Chemistry, National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, ICAR and West Bengal Academy of Science & Technology.

Dr. Lorna De-Leoz (Global Food Segment Director, Agilent Technologies, USA)

Dr. Lorna De Leoz has nearly 20 years of experience in the food industry. As the Global Food Segment Director, she collaborates with scientists to help develop accurate and reliable testing for food safety, quality, and authenticity. Lorna worked at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in the Mass Spectrometry Data Center for seven years. She completed her Ph.D. in Chemistry at University of California, Davis on milk oligosaccharides and glycan biomarkers analyses.
